Hi – wow massive question! benefits – are driving meaningful conclusions with a measured level of confidence so for your drug test example – helping the company determine which formula is more effective. Challenges include ensuring getting the metadata set correct – you can collect so many different parameters but then what will you do with that data – so key is obtaining the right data and then getting a sample set large enough to be meaningful and to understand the error or % accuracy of the results.
Sharing the data – benefits you can combine data sets to increase the sample size and have a better representation, challenge is then protecting and maintaining confidentiality. Hope that helps?
