      great question – Viruses are not living things. Its business is to make more of itself—that’s its only job. Causing disease along the way may or may not be good for it actually—if it kills the cells too fast, that gives it less time to get out and go find a new host

      You could ask this question of most things – what is the point of fish or humans? Like Amal has said a viruses main goal is just to make more of itself so it doesn’t “die out”

      Love the question similar to what Amal and Katie have said, all things want to survive and as they exist there aim is to survive and replicate to produce the next generation.
