• Question: If you had to change one thing about your job, what would it be?

      Hi Samarahl. Thanks for your question – I like most things about my job, but the one thing that I would like to change is for there to be more long projects to work on! It’s quite common for scientists who work in universities at my level to work on short projects (1-3 years). The downside of that is you have to move city or even country quite often. This can be fun as you get to visit new places and meet new people. But it can also be tough when you have to leave friends and family behind!

    I think science can be limited because people don’t want others to steal their ideas. If we could somehow get rid of this then I think there would be more open discussions and science would advance quicker. It’s hard because competition also makes science advance!
