I live in St Albans around London .When I don’t work, I am quite a normal person! I love dogs, dancing and Star Wars. My favourite sweet treat is vegan chocolate brownies! I love chatting about science even in my free time and often spend Saturday afternoon with my friends at a cozy cafe discussing newest discoveries in our fields.

I am fascinated by the organisation of genome and its 3D architecture across evolution. Genome of each species (including human) is chopped into pieces called chromosomes. These chromosomes are like wool bundles that need to be knitted and precisely entangles into specific shapes. I am interested in how this is happening and how the organisation on these entanglements is related to evolution of species and their function.
Some genomes look like a beautiful new apartment – all clean, tidy and well organised. All genes – functional genome units on chromosomes – are nicely ordered, things makes sense. But there are other genomes (the more fancy ones!) that look like a room of a teenager – all messed up, genes up and down, mixed together. Here comes the fun part – trying to understand how the actually messy genomes work!

My Typical Day:
I am quite an early bird so I get up before sunrise, do my morning routine (including grabbing a soya/almond mocha on my way to lab) and then get myself ready to work. Prepare my daily plan including meetings with other scientists and start working.
